IndieOrbit.com provides the platform - YOU distribute your film.
The pay-per-view side of our site contains only feature length, previously unreleased independent films and feature length short-film anthologies distributed by the filmmakers directly. IndieOrbit.com is NOT a rental house for previously released studio films.

When you sign-up and pay for a three or six-month run on IndieOrbit.com, you will be given your own film page where your film will reside. People can either go directly to your film page to access your film or search for it through the IndieOrbit.com main page. When someone clicks to view your film, a PayPal® page will open and they will pay the admission price (set by you) to view your film. After payment is accepted, the film will stream in a progressive download.
IndieOrbit.com will accept your admission fees and make a disbursement to your PayPal account at the end of each month. In order to collect your admission fees, you will need to have a PayPal account (it’s free) prior to signing-up. PayPal is owned by eBay® and with over 100 million account members worldwide is considered the global leader in on-line payment solutions. PayPal charges a 5% + $0 .05 fee per transaction which is applied to your admission fees.
A 50-cent bandwidth charge is deducted from the admission price of each complete download. Whether you charge an admission price of $1.00 or $10.00, IndieOrbit.com deducts 50 cents for the bandwidth. This 50-cent charge is for content delivery bandwidth and is not a profit to IndieOrbit.com.
IndieOrbit.com uses a leading content delivery provider to stream your film through our dedicated server at 700kbps in a Windows Media® file progressive download. That means your film will open immediately and viewers can watch your film in real time as it downloads to their hard drive. After the download is complete, they can view your film as often as they like off-line for up to 48 hours.
IndieOrbit.com does not accept pornography or material in violation of copyright laws.
All films must contain credits and be a minimum total running time of 60 minutes and a maximum of 120 minutes in length. All trailers must be acceptable to be viewed by a general audience.
IndieOrbit.com reserves the right to reject or remove any films or trailers at our sole discretion.
* All films are DRM secured to ensure downloads are copy-proof and only viewable for 48 hours

IndieOrbit.com uses a market leader in Digital Rights Management (DRM) to ensure your film remains safely yours. After receiving and approving your film, we apply DRM features that prevent the file from being copied once it is downloaded. We also apply a time sensitivity feature that renders it un-viewable after 48 hours from downloading. At this time, Windows Media is the only type of file that can be reliably DRM secured. Therefore, all films must be converted to Windows Media files. We will offer other formats as a reliable DRM becomes available for them.
No DRM application is completely un-breakable but the DRM provider we use is one of the most trusted in the industry and endorsed by Microsoft®.

When you sign-up and pay for a three or six-month run on IndieOrbit.com, we will provide you with a film page with the title of your film in the URL. This page will contain a photo of your film, the trailer, cast & crew information, production details and, most importantly, a "View The Film" button that allows people to pay admission and view your film. When marketing your film, you will drive people directly to this page. Of course, anyone can go to the IndieOrbit.com home page and find your film through a "New Arrivals", "Genres" or "Films A to Z" search. They can also use the site's text/name sensitive search box.
You will also receive a personal Filmmaker page containing your photo, bio, filmography, and complete contact information.
* Space to sell advertising on your film page

The idea behind IndieOrbit.com is to provide the indie filmmaker with a platform to earn a profit from his or her film. With this idea in mind, we provide space on your film page for you to sell advertising. As with admission to your film, you set the price and length of term. IndieOrbit.com will charge a small administration fee for putting up and taking down your ads. As with all content on the site, we reserve the right to refuse or remove any and all advertising content.
* DVD and merchandise sales

If you have DVDs and film related merchandise you wish to sell, IndieOrbit.com will provide a link on your film page that will direct viewers to your personal site to make those purchases.
* Discounted Cast & Crew advertising
DETAILS:IndieOrbit.com has a fee-based Cast & Crew advertising section open to anyone looking to post Cast & Crew employment opportunities. There is no cost to potential employees to search and respond to these posts. Filmmakers with active accounts on IndieOrbit.com are entitled to a 25% discount on up to six Cast & Crew wanted posts per six-month term. As with all content on the site, we reserve the right to refuse or remove any and all Cast & Crew job posts.

When you sign-up and pay for a three or six month run on IndieOrbit.com, you retain all the rights (including exhibition rights) to your film. Why not? It's your film! So, if a big studio is impressed with the success of your film through IndieOrbit.com and wants to buy it - take it down and sell it. We hold no ownership or claim on showing it whatsoever.

In addition to your fee for a three or six month run, a 50-cent bandwidth charge is deducted from the admission price of each complete download. Whether you charge $1.00 or $10.00, IndieOrbit.com deducts 50 cents for the bandwidth. This 50-cent charge is for content delivery bandwidth and is not a profit to IndieOrbit.com.
COMPRESSION SERVICES
Don’t have the time or the compression software package to handle a feature length film? We offer a lower cost compression service that will compress your feature length film (60 to 120 minutes and a 90-second trailer) for $99.
We accept DVDs (US region, non-protected), disk files and standard DVCam tapes (recorded in normal play mode).
*DVDs, disks and tapes will not be returned and will be destroyed after compressing.
*Drives will be returned at the filmmaker’s expense.
*If you shot in HD and wish to use our compression services, you will need to transfer to standard DVCam tape (recorded in normal play mode) or provide us with a firewire drive containing just your film and trailer. IndieOrbit.com is not responsible for lost or stolen tapes, disks, or drives (so don’t send any masters!)
